Oakdean Cottages are situated in the small rural village of Langho which is set in serene countryside with stunning views of The Ribble Valley.  Our location lies within The Forest of Bowland, an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty inspiring many including J.R.R. Tolkien and his trilogy Lord of the Rings.

There are 44 idyllic villages surrounding Langho but the nearest is Whalley which is a 5min drive or 30-40 min walk. Along with a beautiful Abbey, the Grade II listed Whalley Viaduct (the largest in Lancashire), shops, a deli, bakery, there are pubs, bars and restaurants to suit every appetite. The nearest town, Clitheroe, is only a 15 min drive away and offers a large choice of supermarkets, shops, places to eat, a beautiful park and playground in the grounds of the iconic medieval Clitheroe Castle and a local open market.

For days out by car, The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the seaside are less than an hour away, The Peak District an hour and a half and in just over ninety minutes you can be in Wales.

We are also perfectly situated for guests coming further afield as we are close to Junction 31 of the M6 with very good transport links. Preston is a 30 min drive away where direct trains go to London (2 hrs), to Glasgow (2 hrs) and to Edinburgh (2 hrs 30 mins). Described as Lancashire and Yorkshire’s hub into and out of the North, Manchester and Leeds are approx 1 hr drive away and both cities have international airports.

Our picturesque but central location, along with the warmth of Lancastrian hospitality, attracts visitors from all over the globe to return time and time again.
